Gran Canaria´s colourful East

Our first stop is the old town of Agüimes, with its colourful alleys and rich Canarian architecture. Agüimes was once an episcopal domain, a fact still evident in its imposing church. Our next stop takes us to the deep ravine of Guayadeque. There are places in the ravine where the sun never shines because this "barranco" is too deep and steep. Cave villages have been carved into its vertical rock walls, and a visit to the troglodytes is in order! In Ingenio, we'll be charmed by its quaint alleys, squares, and beautiful parks. In the park of Néstor Álamo stands the oldest and tallest palm tree in Spain: Paquesito. We can enjoy a meal in a local bar. After satisfying our hunger, our journey continues to Cuatro Puertas. From this natural viewpoint, which is also an important archaeological site, the views are breathtaking! We can see the city of Las Palmas, the Bay of Gando, the central massif, and with a bit of luck: Fuerteventura.
